Lamy originally launched the 2000 series of writing instruments in 1966. Considered quite modern at the time in both its design and materials, it is still a very popular collection. The body is made of Makrolon, a type of fiberglass reinforced polycarbonate resin,in a brushed matte black finish with stainless steel fittings. The Fountain Pen is a piston operated filling system requiring bottled ink and has a 14k gold platinum-coated nib. The ballpoint pens are a click button action and take the M16 refill. The rollerball pen takes the M63 refill.
