Full size, open back planar magnetic headphone. An upgrade from the HE400-series models, the driver is 80% lighter weight and it really shows in the sound - Sundara has excellent detail and clarity. Separation of sounds is well handled, midrange is very clean and treble extension is very impressive and class leading at this price range.
 
Comfort has improved as well, Sundara is now one of the more comfortable planar headphones with its suspended headband. 
 
Sundara shows improved build quality, with metal arms and headband, improved ear pad quality and sleek metal ear cups. Sundara has a clearly tight build quality and more mature, richer looking design.
