  • When are the other titles being released?
Once half the book run is gone; the next title begins to be prepared. Once it's sent for print; it's 4-6 weeks (sometimes longer). Reprints are faster. Once book #9 is printed, the series within the series 'Redline' volume 1 will be printed & then the other 9 books along side the regular series.
  • How many books are there in total?
There are 33 + books in total. All the stories are fictional and take place locally, with the exception of one. Each story is independent of each other, however, characters often frequent the other's stories. There are two cross over books, where separate stories take place simultaneously around the same event. The same scenes; but from the other characters/book perspectives. These two books will not be released in order. Then, there is the series within the series called Redline Volume 1-10. This is one continuous story that has all the characters from the first 9 books. (Although, this continues to grow, just as the initial list of books does) My hope is that someday a TV series is made from Redline.
  • Where did the name Maggie Dunchurch come from?
Maggie stands for Magnetawan (her town) & Dunchurch is a town nearby that she frequents.
  • Are the books available to buy on line?
Books are available on-line by e-transfer. Payable to Maggie Dunchurch Mysteries and the email is: maggiedunchurch@yahoo.com 1-6 books can be sent at a time to anywhere in Ontario for $20.00. Outside of Ontario will be more, depending on location. How to order: Send Maggie a direct message at maggiedunchurch@yahoo.com with your vital information and book request & e transfer the funds once you receive a response or confirmation.
  • Has there been any book-signings or public appearances?
Maggie had a book-signing at the Sunflower Festival in Sundridge, which was a. huge success. Other appearances include The Huntsville Library Author Night, hosted by the Huntsville & Area Historical Society, as well as Katrine Christmas Market in Katrine and then her book release at the Whitestone Public Library. Maggie was also at Pharmasave on Main St East in Huntsville in March and at Zehrs in Orillia in June 2023. Other upcoming markets include Bala Farmers' Market June 24th, 2023, Sunflower Festival in Sundridge August 12th, on Main St in Sundridge, and at the Muskoka Market Huntsville's'. Summer Edition on August 19th on Main St. in Huntsville, and at various markets in other areas. Follow & like her page on facebook.
  • Is there a particular order that the books are released?
Yes, the books are released in order of popularity from previous feedback. This feedback, combined with other factors, such as time of year the story happens; helps determine the best order in which the books should be released.
  • What information is on Maggie's Blog?
Maggie's blog is a collection of personal stories, experiences, interesting facts, announcements & videos. Maggie is working to do updates that will allow readers to comment and review.
  • Are her books more mystery or romance?
Each story is mystery first with various degrees of romance. Each one has a strong story-line that stands on its own, even if the romance were taken away. This is why Maggie's books are also read by men.
  • How long has Maggie been writing?
Maggie has been writing since she was very young. In grade school, it was short stories and in high school it was books. She stopped writing for roughly 15 years. (with the exception of poems) When she returned to the keyboard, she wrote 13 in her first year & has since written a total of 33, despite giving it up again for nearly 8 years.. Visit her blog for more details of her journey and the readers that helped shape her stories prior to being published.
  • Why does the list of stores grow & shrink?
In some cases, the stores aren't environmentally friendly for books; high humidity, etc. In other cases, there's too many stores within a certain distance so it works better to keep 2 stores per town. Also, there are the seasonal stores that only stock in the summer.
  • Why are some titles not carried in all store locations?
Some stores are limited on space and there's just not enough room for all of the titles at once. There are some stores that have all of the titles at certain times of year & others that have them all the time.
  • Is there a way to order the entire collection in hard-cover?
Maggie is looking to release the entire collection in hard-cover in the future. Email your request and you will be put on a tentative list when the hard-cover series becomes available.
  • Why aren't the geographical areas exact as they are in real life?
The story isn’t based on the location, but the characters and the story-line that is being told. Whether there’s actually white picked fences in a town or an expansive sandy beach on a particular lake; it’s all about the story that is being told. If I were writing historical books; then those details would have to be exact. But the books are fiction. Anything goes, within reason of the tone of the story.
  • Who does your video?
I produce all my own video. 90% of what is used I filmed myself. Anything else I had to purchase the rights to use. Video is my junk food that I indulge in after more than a decade of filming a YouTube series /pilot for a show that didn't go to production. During those years, I lived on the road with my husband 5 months a year doing concerts. The series I filmed was considered a musical documentary, but it was more of a realty show docu-series with cast members were the people on site producing the shows. Each season produced 40 episodes.
  • Do you write true stories?
Yes, I do write true stories as well. Initially I had 9 true stories that I plan to rewrite into fiction, because what's fun for me is not know where it's going. I also have The Maggie Dunchurch Story - 'The story of the stories' which is 3 volumes. It covers everything from when I started writing, how everything happened, the way the world worked back then & the haunted house I lived in when I wrote the first 24 books. There are helpful tips to use when writing and understanding the literary world and how to overcome obstacles from all aspects of the process. My goal is to have at least the first volume done by the end of 2025. This book will not be sold in stores where the mystery series is sold, so that there's no confusion. It will be available on line and in certain locations that haven't been mapped out yet.
  • What's the hardest part of publishing a book?
The hardest part of the publishing process for me is promoting on social media. I find it easier to sell in person than on line.

Full Story of the Stories

This is the first of the true story series. It's the full story of my journey in writing; from the first book onward. How I wrote them, what I learned and how I followed my heart. It covers the best and the worst experiences and everything in between. Each time I think the story is done, I keep writing, because my journey isn't over yet.  Once it's closer to production, a proper description will be done.
