This recipe is quick, easy, and a customer favorite that highlights the bold flavors of Ki’imak Salsa Macha. It’s perfect for colder days or as an appetizer for any occasion.
Ingredients (Serves 2-3):
2 cups canned crushed tomatoes (or fresh tomatoes, blended)
2 cups vegetable or chicken broth
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 tbsp Ki’imak Salsa Macha (adjust for spiciness)
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp dried oregano (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
Garnishes (optional): fresh cilantro, crumbled queso fresco, or tortilla strips
Instructions:
Heat olive oil in a pot over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic, sautéing until fragrant (about 3 minutes).
Stir in Ki’imak Arbol Salsa Macha and cook for 1 minute to release its flavors.
Add the crushed tomatoes and broth, stirring well. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes.
Season with salt, pepper, and oregano. For a smoother texture, blend the soup with an immersion blender.
Serve hot, garnished with fresh cilantro, queso fresco, or tortilla strips.
